Outside Tents

If you are planning to go on a camping trip, then the most important equipment of such an endeavor will be the outside tents or the camping tents.  Without a proper tent, you will not be able to enjoy you stay in any camping ground, whether it is summer or winter.  In addition, it is important that you select the proper type of tent, based on your needs.  This means that you will have to predetermine the size of the tent, the basic requirements of the tent and the seasonal use of the tent, even before you go shopping for it. Outdoor Camping Shopping is something you should take seriously, since it can cost a lot of money.

If you are looking for outside tents, first of all you will need to know what kind of a tent you need; so that you can correspond your budget with the right type of a tent.   Of course, the first major decision that you will have to make will be the size of the tent.  As most tents depend on the size for their price, you will need to predetermine this.  For example, if you are going with your buddy to a camping trip; then chances are a two person tent will be more than adequate to suit your camping needs.  However, if you are thinking of going to a camping trip as a family event, then you will need to consider a much bigger tent.

This means that you will have to buy a 4 person tent at the least.  In addition, family tents come with flaps that you can pull down, which allow you to have separate rooms if necessary.  This is a pretty useful feature, as it will allow the parents to have some semblance of privacy within the confines of the tent.  Another important matter that you have to consider is the future.  A decent tent will cost around $300 to $400 (hence the camping tent will take the major portion of your camping trip budget), thus you should take care to buy a tent as big as possible to fit your future needs, remember that shopping around for outdoor camping supplies can take a while, but its almost always worth it in terms of costs.  For example, if you buy a tent that barely is enough, what will you do, if you have an extra child or if you have some family and friends come over with you in a camping trip.

Also, it’s possible that your children may want to even invite friends of their own to a camping trip.   Thus, you should always think ahead and plan for a bigger camping trip.  Spending $400 today and finding out that you need a bigger tent in 6 months will be pretty aggravating for you.  Thus if you are already spending couple of hundred dollars, it is usually advantageous to spend another hundred dollars more to get the biggest tent possible for your future consideration.

Another major decision point is the usability of your tent in different seasons.  Tents usually are designed, so that they are more suitable for a certain season.  For example, in summers, you will need to have cool and fresh air come in to your tent especially at nights when you are sleeping.  It can be pretty disconcerting when you have to spend a night in a ht and humid tent which keeps all the heat inside.   It will be like wearing a wool sweater in a hot summer day.  However, if it is the winter time; then you would not want a tent that causes you to shiver constantly due to the cold air that is circulating inside.  Especially if it is snowing outside, the last thing that you want to do is to have snow and hail come inside or to have your tent buffeted by the high winds outside.  In a case like this, you will probably be sorry that you went camping in the first place.

Thus there are two different types of tents by the season availability.  There are 3 season tents or 4 season tents.  A 3 season tent is in essence a summer tent, which you can use in the three seasons of spring, summer and fall.  A 3 season tent is specially designed so that it allows cool air to circulate inside, thus protecting you from overheating.  It will probably be made of a lighter material and thus it will also be easy to carry as a tent.  However, a 4 season tent is in essence a winter tent.  This means that it will have special protection against the weather elements in the winter.  Perhaps it will have special flaps and special sections in the entrance to stop cold air and snow or it might be made out of heavier material that will provide more insulation to your self.  However, if you tried to use a winter tent in summer, you will probably overheat with all that extra insulation.  In addition, a winter tent will be more heavy and more expensive compared to a 3 season tent.  So you should think about your needs carefully before selecting the proper outside tent for your outdoor expedition.

In any case you can always spend most of your time out of you outdoor tent, you can go outdoor hiking...
